~Hunt Alaska~
T. C. Lewis Lodge puts you right on Cloud 9 of Hunting Heaven! Local silky-coated black bear are prolific. These bear are a treat to hunt, and you have the possible option of hunting them with bait and tree stand. Black bear season is mid to late May into early June. The earlier the better for these blackies, before they start to rub.
Brown bear are also found in Beluga. Hunting these burly beasts is best done while you can still get around by snowmachine, which is around the month of April, depending on snow conditions. Catching them the first couple days after they emerge from the den is the key to keeping a nice coat on your trophy brown bear. Spring hunts require camping in a wall tent in the higher country and glassing the nearby hillsides and valleys. Fall hunts are an option as well. Contact Joe and Candie about hunting the monstrous brown bear of the Cold Bay area. Fall moose are another classic hunt of Alaska, and Beluga moose are no exception! Trophies in the 60 inch range are not uncommon in the area. Moose is exceptional eating as well, and one moose will last our own family of four a full year. Hike into an area, or try your hand at calling them in. The real work begins after the hunt when you're packing these trophies out! T.C. Lewis Lodge can also take you on a caribou hunt. Much smaller than moose, they are excellent eating as well outside of rut. A caribou hunt requires an additional flight out of Beluga to the herds, most likely towards the western or northern side of the Alaska Range from Beluga's central location. This remote hunt puts you in treeless land that rolls as far as the eye can see. T.C. Lewis Lodge specializes in dall sheep hunts. Again, it is an additional flight deep into almost any of Alaska's mountain ranges, but it's well worth it. The immense solitude and scenery is the only thing that can hold a candle to such an unbeatable Alaskan trophy. This is a remote hunt, with the pilot setting a predetermined return pick up date. |
