~Venture into Solitude~
Our location 60 miles southwest of Anchorage puts the lodge in the heart of one of the world's greatest fisheries. Migrating salmon coming north out of the Pacific Ocean pass through Cook Inlet and into the rivers surrounding T.C. Lewis Lodge (which has teamed up with Theotatma Adventures).
Our experienced guides have fished Alaska for years, and know where to put you right in the thick of the rivers teeming with several species of salmon. Their knowledge of Alaska fishing is truly the key to landing that world-class salmon. A day fishing here begins early- as early as you could ever wish, considering the long summer days! Let our guides take you to the best river for that day, have a riverside lunch, then return to a home cooked meal. Choosing after-dinner activities is easy, as our first-class service
takes care of all the filleting, wrapping, and freezing of your catch. Taking
advantage of the 11 pm daylight, you can take a walk on the endless miles of
gravel beach along Cook Inlet searching for agates, or go for a drive on the 18
miles of gravel road that Beluga boasts, or have a cup of coffee in the lodge. The season in Beluga normally begins in early June and runs through September. Monster King (Chinook) Salmon take over the rivers from early June through mid-July. These tackle-busting powerhouses challenge even the most experienced angler, yet our first time visitors are able to land these giants with a little coaching from our experienced guides. Kings normally run 20-35 pounds, with incredible trophies in the 50-60 pound class taken every season. The Kings are followed closely by the feisty and delicious Red (Sockeye) Salmon. While much smaller than the Kings, they are considered by many to be the finest table fare of all the salmon.
For anglers wishing a little variety, Pike fishing is near! Furthermore, the beautiful Rainbow Trout have carved out secret niches in a few of the rivers. A little more rare than the plentiful salmon, Beluga's Rainbows will delight and challenge the most experienced angler with their relative elusiveness and dazzling colors. Trout fishing doesn't stop with Rainbows; Dolly Varden are also intermixed in the rivers.
One thing is for sure, however: your stay with us will truly be an unforgettable time in the Last Frontier! Click Here to Find out What to Bring and Trip Planning
